Simon has been running Ding Repairs Byron Bay for 15 years, and before that he was working at McTavish, just a stone-throw away from the ding repair workshop. Originally from the UK, he has been surfing our Pacific ocean for almost 40 years, 30 of which has been in Byron. One of Sweet Surf’s boardriders, you’ll spot Simon riding all sorts of single fin longboards, midlengths, retros as well as the occasional twinny. Simon is doing his bit for all of us that truly want to live as responsibly as possible with his diy tutorial site Maltbys, equipping surfers with the skills to repair their own boards. McTavish, Boards in the Bay, Ripcurl and Surfection all send their customers’ repairs to Simon.

Emilie Dufour Emilie, or Mim, is a canadian who grew up hooked on mountain biking, skiing, and surfing. After years of working small jobs to fund big surf trips, she finished university and made her way to Australia. A year in West Aus and a nullarbor journey landed her here. Nowadays, her home break is Brunswick Heads, where you will find her, more often than not, riding a Cape Collective 5’8, which is sort-of, kind-of, a twinny, but with a thruster setup. Fast, playful, and still holds when you push it — a fun, reliable all-rounder.

Kiwi chick with a background in marine biology and environmental science, and a passion for marine ecology. Works as a freelance photographer and writer for surf magazines. With five years in creative direction, media, and marketing management roles in the surf industry. Recently finished up a lap of Australia surfing her way around the coast. Can now be found mostly at Boulders Beach or Lennox Head on a 5'10 Al Merick x Channel Islands Twin.

Mitch is an advocate for environmental action and a musician. He is a member of the Australian psych-rock band Ocean Alley, a band that has a strong connection to the ocean and surfing, and an ambassador for: Santos Organics, Save Wallum, Green Music, Earthd, and Of The Earth.
